Antonio Thomas is a Memphis Tennessee native, who began his basketball journey at East High School. The 6-foot-2 inch guard, who transferred to East from Ridgeway for his senior season, helped lead the Mustangs to their fourth straight Tennessee Class AAA state championship.
In his lone season with the University of Evansville Purple Aces, Antonio demonstrated his scoring prowess and playmaking ability, averaging 7.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while starting in all 35 games of the season.
Antonio notably finished third in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in free throw percentage, converting an impressive 86.2% of his attempts, including a remarkable stretch where he hit 30 of his final 32 attempts.
He first burst onto the scene with a standout performance of 27 points in a thrilling home overtime victory against UNI, where he showcased his efficiency by hitting 8 of 11 field goal attempts and 9 of 10 free throws, while also contributing 5 rebounds.
He also recorded a solid outing in a road win against Bellarmine, tallying 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists which is a testament to his all-around game. He consistently contributed on offense, scoring 10+ points in five of six games between January 3 and January 17, including a season-high of 15 points against Missouri State, whie kicking off the season strong, registering 8+ points in four of the first five games, highlighted by an 11-point performance in the victory against Chattanooga.
Before joining the Purple Aces, Antonio had an impactful career. Before he transferred from Kentucky Wesleyan for his fifth year, he made significant contributions over his two seasons at the school. During his final season at Kentucky Wesleyan. he averaged 9.8 points and 3.0 rebounds over 29 games, ranking second on the team with 83 assists.
As a junior, he showcased his versatility, totaling 100 assists in 28 games while averaging 7.3 points and 3.1 rebounds.
 He started his collegiate career at Bradley, where he was a critical member of the 2020 MVC Championship Team as a freshman. He made seven starts that year and recorded a personal-best of 14 points in his first collegiate start against Toledo.
Antonio is known for his excellent decision-making and ability to drive the offense, coupled with a reliable scoring touch from the free-throw line and beyond. His experience across multiple collegiate programs has honed his skills as a point guard, making him a valuable asset to any team. Antonio is a promising player poised for continued success in his basketball career, combining experience with a strong work ethic and a competitive spirit.
