Justin Batts

Justin Batts II hails from Memphis, Tennessee, where his basketball journey began at Briarcrest Christian High School under the guidance of coach John Harrington. Known for his exceptional court vision and ball-handling skills, Batts quickly made a name for himself as the team's starting point guard, leading in assists and boasting an impressive 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. His stellar performance earned him a spot on the First Team All-Region.


Transitioning to Southwest Community College, Batts continued to shine under the mentorship of former NBA player Cedric Henderson. As the starting point guard for two consecutive years, he maintained his reputation as an assist leader, showcasing his versatility on the court. Throughout his tenure at SWTCC, Batts showcased his well-rounded skill set, averaging 7.9 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game with solid shooting percentages.


Further honing his craft at Baker University, Batts embraced a new role as a facilitator and creator within the team's system-style of play. Despite adjusting his game to meet the team's needs, Batts continued to excel, demonstrating his adaptability and basketball IQ. His contributions were instrumental in leading Baker to their rare NAIA National Tournament appearances.


Notably, Batts solidified his place in the record books with a remarkable performance, setting the Single Game Steal Leader record with an impressive 11 steals in a single game. Recognized for his dedication, playmaking abilities, defensive prowess, and work ethic, Batts embodies the qualities of a true team player and leader on and off the court. With a knack for knocking down crucial shots and impacting the game in multiple facets, Justin Batts II remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of basketball.
